About Us
To say that Mark has been an avid fan and collector since childhood would be an understatement. At 10 years old, he was collecting Star Wars figures from the 70’s and 80’s and later into the 90’s with Marvel Toy Biz and Kenner. From there, his passion turned into trade.
Fast-forward to the modern day and Mark is equipped with an astounding arsenal of toys and comics that withstands the tales of time. Imagine a pristinely-kept, perfectly documented collection to the scale of national museums; a timeless archive.
And now, he shares it with the world, and with you, through The Allience.
A large part of this flair has come from attending various fan-appreciation events, such as Hasboro’s Hascon, San Diego Comic Con, Lego shows and more (See photo, to left).
The experience and opportunities to hear from the creators of the toys is invaluable, much like their products.
The companies create the toy, but the fans are the ones who breathe life into them. Witnessing toy creators unveil their merchandise for the upcoming year, interacting with the PR teams and experiencing this level of excitement first-hand is what The Allience recreates.
The History
The Allience was originally formed as a fan-based collection of comics and toys by Mark in 1997, via toy shows and in-person meet ups in the pre-internet age.
As the 21st century approached, Mark’s journey evolved from those early years of collecting into showcasing his toys and comics and sharing those stories. Over the past 23 years the collection exponentially grew, including various figures from toy companies such as Toy Biz, Mattel, and Hasbro.
Mark’s passion for creating customs began in the early 90s with the ToyBiz 5-inch line, and transformed into the 2000s with Hasboro’s 6-inch Marvel figures. With a CRACK - POP - and GLUE, his intention has always been to preserve the authenticity of the original characters as they appeared in the comics (See photo, to right).
